Nexcess Makes Magento Hosting Plans Even Faster With Redis

Hosted by the Magento team, MagentoLive is your opportunity to get the latest Magento news, participate in conversations about eCommerce trends and growth, and network

Redis, which joins Memcached as an option for Magento hosting clients, is a powerful open source in-memory key-value data store that allows for efficient caching of data from Magento. Redis is positioned in front of Magento, caching the result of requests to the eCommerce application and returning responses to subsequent requests more quickly than would be possible otherwise. By holding the cache in RAM, Redis can significantly enhance front and back-end performance for eCommerce stores, resulting in a better experience for shoppers and leading to lower cart abandonment rates, decreased bounce rates, and increased revenue.

“For eCommerce hosting clients, there is a direct correlation between site performance and revenue,” commented Chris Wells, President and CEO of Nexcess. “Over the last few years, we’ve put considerable time and effort into building an eCommerce hosting platform that provides unbeatable performance and stability. Adding Redis as an option for Magento hosting clients is part of our ongoing commitment to give them the tools they need to offer the ideal eCommerce experience to their customers.”

Redis will be available to Magento users hosted on Nexcess’s Secure Isolated Platform servers on the SIP–200 tier and above, which includes shared hosting, dedicated server hosting, and enterprise cluster hosting. Nexcess provides Magento hosting from many locations around the globe, including multiple points of presence in the US, in Surrey, UK for low-latency access to European markets, and in Brisbane, Australia, which has high-speed connections to Australia, New Zealand, and the Asia-Pacific region.
